PRECHOOL REGISTRATION 2026-27
March 9 - April 17, 2026

FES is now open for Prek registration for the 2026/27 school year. Your child must be three by 9/01/26. Parents can request enrollment packets by contacting Debbie Boutin-Bolam at 802-849-6251, or email dboutin-bolam@fwsu.org. If your child is currently enrolled in the PreK program at FES, you do not need to request a packet. You will receive several forms via mail to update to return by April 17, 2026. We are trying to go online for all registration so I will email current Preschool parents with an online link to register your child.

KINGERGARTEN REGISTRATION 2026-27

FES Kindergarten registration is now open. Your child must be five years old on or before September 1, 2026 to attend Kindergarten in the fall of 2026/27. All FWSU Schools (Fairfax, Fletcher, and Georgia) will be closed tomorrow January 26 in anticipation of the impact of the prolonged snowfall on arrival and dismissal. Stay safe and warm.

All Franklin west schools-BFA , Fletcher and Georgia will be on a two hour delay this morning December 4 due to the unpredictable driving conditions associated with potential squalls. Please drive carefully after the delay. Thank you

This afternoon at 4:30 PM, we sent a test message to all families via phone, email, and text. If you did not receive a message in at least one of these formats, please contact your school.

FES Kindergarten and Preschool registration paperwork has been mailed. Call the school if you have not received any paperwork.

FES Preschool and Kindergarten registration will begin the week of March 10th. Paperwork will go out in the mail.

All FWSU schools will be on a two hour delay Monday February 17. This will allow our road crews to assess road conditions and catch up. We will advise if conditions change by 7:30 tomorrow morning.

Due to the unpredictability of the afternoon weather and liklihood of freezing rain during our afternoon travel, all FWSU schools will be closed today (2/13/25). Stay safe and enjoy the winter weather!

FY26 School Budget Guides (SY 2025-26) are expected to arrive in residents’ mailboxes this weekend into early next week. Be advised that each registered voter address will receive one School Budget Guide. March 12, 2023 Last week, the Champlain Valley Superintendents Association (CVSA) met to review our decision to have school in session on April 8th, the solar eclipse day. Since our initial decision to have a half day, we have received more information trying to keep any traffic off the road that day from the state of Vermont and other Public Safety offices. The superintendents determined that each county of superintendents would decide whether the school would be open or closed. Due to the fact that our schools are in the path of the totality and will attract a large number of eclipse observers, the Franklin and Grand Isle Superintendents have determined that on April 8th, we will close schools and make up the day at the end of the year, very similar to a snow day. Thank you for your support and understanding.

With BFA's delay, the following information is for Fletcher high school students who attend BFA . There will be a second route to get you to BFA for the delayed start.

All FWSU Schools will be on a two hour delay due to uncertain road conditions and power outages. Please be safe and stay tuned for updates.

At their meeting Tuesday evening, the Fletcher School Board voted to appoint Denette Locke as the Principal for Fletcher Elementary for the 2024-25 school year (and the rest of this year!). The Board praised Denette's communication with staff, community, and the board as well as her commitment to and passion for the Fletcher school. We are thrilled that Denette will transition from Interim Principal to Principal! Congratulations Denette! John

Out of an abundance of caution, we are cancelling all after school and evening activities at any Franklin West school (Fairfax, Fletcher, and Georgia) today. We are monitoring river conditions for potential impact on travel in the morning. We will update you as we have new information.

Kindness Starts With Me!- On Wednesday, November 29th at 5:30 pm there will be a Parent Assembly with our Guest Speaker Amy Kraus. Please see the attached flier for more information. Our 6th grade students and adults are interested in providing childcare activities for our families so that parents can attend the evening event. Please complete the attached form so that we can gauge interest and number of children that will need childcare. Thursday, November 30th morning we will have 2 assemblies (K-3) and (4-6) with the focus of kindness.
